- Dec 15, 2021 · 3 years agoYes, it is possible to open a TD Ameritrade account specifically for trading cryptocurrencies. TD Ameritrade offers access to Bitcoin futures trading through the CME Group. This allows investors to trade Bitcoin futures contracts on the platform. However, it's important to note that TD Ameritrade does not currently offer direct trading of cryptocurrencies like Bitcoin or Ethereum. Instead, they provide exposure to cryptocurrencies through futures contracts.

While they do provide access to Bitcoin futures trading, they do not support direct trading of cryptocurrencies. If you are specifically interested in trading cryptocurrencies, you may want to consider other platforms that specialize in digital asset trading.
